Most victories are small.

I just though I'd point out that, amidst a late night of writing copy for my class and futzing with a new Cascading Stylesheet model for this humble blog, I've finally fixed a nasty piece of bad code that had me buggered for some time. Ever notice the dropped formatting that used to occur on the first dateline on each blog page?

[crickets] I thought you hadn't. [/crickets]

Nevertheless, it would only happen with IE5.5 and above, which is weird, since it was a missing close-tag bracket; I guess Mozilla/Netscape is more robust than IE when it comes to that sort of thing. Moz is actually my first choice browser, just in case you asked...however, upon "...checking my referral logs," as a friend suggested recently, I was once again reminded that most of the free world uses Internet Explorer.

Which, of course, begs the question: Just how free do they think they are?

Carry on, comrades; I'll keep editing my code.

The end of a (short) era.

Well, it's official, and even though I'm wistful at the conclusion of it all, I think that I - and the contemporary urban scene, of course - is better for the coming-and-going of it. Farewell, "Sex and the City," you've been a most loyal storyteller. Now all I can think is, what the hell is left on TV? In my humble opinion, just in case you were asking, the answer is nothing. So, the TV is now off. Permanently.

Just as an aside to all of this tearful high-handed media criticism: don't click-through that link if you don't want to know how it all ended, especially, say, if you've recorded it a-la the character of Miranda, on your TiVO, waiting for a better moment to consume it. But if you have, I simply have to add: what the hell are you waiting for? It was pure poetry, and a love letter to the City of New York. Exactly as it always was, and exactly as we imagined it would be.

I ask you: what could possibly be better?
